A dispatch from the Netflix War Room.
While I think his larger points are valid, calling Playstation Now a “joke” or saying it “has no prayer” is just being hyperbolic to get attention. Netflix has built a pretty strong business on a large, old catalog and great original programming. Playstation Now will take the same approach, I’m sure, and my gut says this will work for game streaming, too.
I’m consistently underwhelmed by every new TV-related device or tech I see. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but when I read about Chromecast, like any other tech like this I think, “why?” Why would I buy something extra when the TV set I have is good enough? Something special will arrive and wow us all one day. But this isn’t it.
