Today’s guest educator post was written by Karen Czajkowski, a high school English department chair and teacher in New York. Karen has used Storybird for several years with students and her young daughters, and has led workshops on how to use Storybird in the classroom.
I think this is only surprising if you’re naive or not around any real kids. My other thought is that I wonder how many adults only spend 2 hours a day looking at screens?
Like games and TV before them, setting arbitrary limits for phone or tablet use seems pointless to me. Sure, doing nothing all day but playing on a device is bad for anyone, but every person is different. Humanity is more adaptable and resilient than we realize.
