This piece really gets at the heart of what I love about college ball – for all the NFL stars, there are 3 times as many kids who get college degrees and leading rewarding lives who otherwise wouldn't without a sports scholarship.
I love Richard Sherman. If you love football, believe me, you want a guy like him playing on your team. He’s mature enough to admit he could have handle himself differently, but also not apologetic about what he did.
Also, don’t kid ourselves America, racial bias played a role in how he was perceived. If someone who looked like Drew Brees had done the same thing, people would have reacted, but nearly as strongly.
Defensive tackle Nosa Eguae, who played his final game at Auburn in Monday night’s BCS Championship Game, has written what he terms an open letter to the Auburn family.
Final Auburn link of the day. College football is different from pro ball for this reason.
This is such a well written piece with Auburn on the day of the National Title game. I have such respect for Coach Gus Malzahn.
Monday night my alma mater, Auburn, plays for the college football national title. What a great way to start the new year. I can't wait for the game, and I really enjoy this writer's take on the Tigers. He always adds a nice human element to his work that other sports pieces often lack.
This is a big week for me and my state. If you’ve never lived in Alabama, you just can’t understand how big a game this football game is under normal circumstances. Given what’s on the line this year, it’s an amazing week to be an Alabamian.
Oh, and…. War Eagle!
Funniest thing I’ve read in a long while. My Bama friends will kill me for reposting, but it’s too funny not to share.
What a great finish to this game yesterday. I had to quit watching at one point, but it was nice to see a bit of old 2010 magic back in the last couple minutes.
